# Doc Ward ## Personal Mission To teach what I know, learn what I don't, and have as much fun as possible along the way. ## Unique Specialty Smoking meats and experimenting with the many flavor combinations of dry rubs. ## Other Passions Drumming for several bands, wood carving and art. ## Expertise - [Techniques & Tools](/content/cooking/techniques-and-tools/index.html) - [Party & Entertaining](/content/cooking/party-and-entertaining/index.html) - [Snacks](/content/cooking/snacks/index.html) At the age of 15, after turning down the offer of a fast food restaurant "university" (that shall remain nameless), Doc accepted a pantry position at a high end restaurant. He simultaneously took on a position with a catering company, wanting to absorb as much knowledge as possible. Working both jobs at the same time allowed Doc to become encompassed by the cooking and grilling world. Under the guidance of many fine chefs, he learned the technique and power of the grill and sauté stations. He has been cooking for 25 years and still feels that there is plenty to learn, and plenty to share. ## Videos ### [Deep-Fried Turducken](/content/cooking/video/juicy-deep-fried-turducken-for-the-holidays/528747a12137907a7d04d3c9/index.html) 194 I Did This | 9:59 ### [Bacon-Wrapped Turkey](/content/cooking/video/bacon-wrapped-roasted-turkey-with-stuffing/528fa3ca7bae84963405fde3/index.html) 179 I Did This | 4:14 ### [Debone Poultry in a Flash](/content/cooking/video/debone-turkey-chicken-and-duck-in-15-minutes/52869be72137907a7d02f700/index.html) 134 I Did This | 5:30 ### [Orange Zest & Sage Turkey](/content/cooking/video/orange-zest-and-sage-thanksgiving-turkey/527d34d9f9b0eb907d03fbc7/index.html) 141 I Did This | 6:26 ### [Ahi Salad with Sesame](/content/cooking/video/seared-ahi-salad-with-blue-cheese-and-sesame/51e8502f122d9fa332009029/index.html) 89 I Did This | 5:29 ### [Baked "Fried" Chicken](/content/cooking/video/baked-fried-chicken-with-chili-seasoning/51de16f0eecaa6f364032525/index.html) 319 I Did This | 6:46 ### [Corn with Chipotle Butter](/content/cooking/video/grilled-corn-on-the-cob-with-chipotle-butter/51d220742e47345844006940/index.html) 91 I Did This | 3:01 ### [Roasted Tomato Red Salsa](/content/cooking/video/roasted-tomato-and-jalape-o-red-salsa/51cdfe270b8c6fe76200024c/index.html) 130 I Did This | 4:44 ### [Roasted Tomatillo Salsa](/content/cooking/video/roasted-tomatillo-and-avocado-green-salsa/51ce17670b8c6fe7620056ca/index.html) 123 I Did This | 4:59 ### [Pizzas on the Grill](/content/cooking/video/easy-dinner-homemade-pizzas-on-the-grill/51d0c7b00b8c6fe762036386/index.html) 204 I Did This | 12:47 ### [Pineapple Dessert Nachos](/content/cooking/video/grilled-pineapple-on-cinnamon-sugar-tortillas/51c8ff5d46b6d3e23308d428/index.html) 70 I Did This | 7:13 ### [Fresh Galangal Limeade](/content/cooking/video/fresh-galangal-limeade/51ca2e3ded26523d69004166/index.html) 313 I Did This | 4:59 ### [Cherry Chutney Pork Chop](/content/cooking/video/grilled-pork-chop-with-golden-cherry-chutney/51c8fa9746b6d3e23308cd5c/index.html) 38 I Did This | 6:50 ### [Pork Tamale Muffin Pies!](/content/cooking/video/pork-tamale-pies-grilled-in-a-muffin-pan/515e423e83984f3f06001c84/index.html) 194 I Did This | 16:36 ### [Docums 3-Chili Dry Rub](/content/cooking/video/docums-dry-rub-doc-ward-s-3-chili-spice-mix/5160719c4ceb7728780060fb/index.html) 94 I Did This | 2:44 ### [Jicama & Papaya Salad](/content/cooking/video/light-and-crunchy-jicama-and-papaya-salad/516071b24ceb77287800611c/index.html) 86 I Did This | 7:26 ### [Chipotle Marmalade Shrimp](/content/cooking/video/shrimp-with-orange-marmalade-chipotle-sauce/517aab2b79b166606c00162f/index.html) 36 I Did This | 6:56 ### [Grilled Summer Vegetables](/content/cooking/video/colorful-grilled-vegetables-for-summer-barbecues/515e2b4a83984f3f060012bd/index.html) 429 I Did This | 9:27 ### [Applewood-Smoked Ribs](/content/cooking/video/applewood-smoked-baby-back-ribs-and-bbq-sauce/515e2b3c83984f3f060012a4/index.html) 106 I Did This | 6:40 ### [Smoked Baby Back Ribs](/content/cooking/video/apple-and-mesquite-smoked-ribs-with-docums-dry-rub/516071a74ceb77287800610d/index.html) 69 I Did This | 5:56 ### [Mr. Wah's BBQ Sauce](/content/cooking/video/mr-wah-s-famous-barbecue-sauce/515e362883984f3f06001786/index.html) 56 I Did This | 6:00 ## Credentials -
